View Full Version : Paper Minis? GENIUS!
I don't know why I didn't know about these before, but I just saw Paizo sells paper miniatures for Pathfinder, including stuff from their adventure paths. AWESOME!
They're pretty cheap, too, it looks like. You can get a ream of cardstock then have all the mini's you'll need at a great price.
NameLips, I got the set for Fortress of the Stone Giants if you want to use them when we meet up again.

Have you ever checked out worldworksgames offhand? :) Back before I was im'ing with my now wife I would build dungeon pieces while watching tv in the evenings. :) I keep getting tempted to start up again now that we talk in person in the evenings.
As a follow-up, those things are a pain in the ass to assemble. Despite how cheap they are I'm not certain they're actually worth it when you factor in the assembly process and their durability compared to getting pewter or plastic minis.

After seeing your mention and your excitement, I had to search them out. I couldn't believe I hadn't heard of them. Once I saw them, I remembered that I had. While the idea behind them is excellent, and they are well executed for what they are, they really didn't rock my world enough to toss my old plastic minis.
As far as durability goes, though, if you really want to make a go of them, you might want to print them on card stock, as heavy as your machine can handle, and laminate them.

We spent a couple hours cutting, pasting, and assembling. With several of us helping, it was going pretty quickly. It was kind of fun to be able to pull out a unique mini for each NPC and monster in the module.
Radu printed them out on cardstock, and they seem sturdy enough. The main problem to me is storage. You could fold over the finished shape so it lies flat, but it would be tricky to ever get it standing up straight again. I don't have enough shelf space to stand them all up. I ended up just tossing them into a plastic grocery bag. They should be fine so long as nobody squishes it.

I'd recommend getting some kind of box instead of a grocery bag. That should protect them from squishing. If you can work out a way of sorting them as well (e.g. PCs here, undead there, animals there, or possibly by encounter instead), so much the better.

ziplock sandwich bags, by encounter.
label the bags, then toss them in a bin. :D
