Wav to MP3 conversion

Can someone point me to an easy (and free) tool to do this conversion. I thought that winamp could do it, but apparently you need the pro (ie not free) version...

You will need to get the LAME codec to convert files into mp3 here: http://www.free-codecs.com/Lame_Encoder_download.htm

First time you decode some file into mp3 it will ask you what the folder where you d/led the LAME codec is, for next conversions it will do it automatically--->http://www.foobar2000.org/?page=FAQ#converting_audio_files_to_different_file _formats

Just download Lame and use it commandline,
still the best if your doing a lot
