We're being invaded by Russian Spammers! Fucking hell, I keep deleting them and they send more troops in waves! To save my border troops I've told them to close the gates -- we're not accepting new registrations for a few days, maybe a week. Hopefully they will throw some empty vodka bottles at the gates and move on other targets.

If anyone legitimately wants to register during this time and can't, use the "Contact Us" button at the bottom of the front page to send me an email.

I was wondering at all the recent member names with consonant+vowel combos that looked like someone had thrown a set of scrabble tiles in a blender. There was definitely a whiff of spam about. Perhaps we can make membership by referral/invitation only.

Between the General and myself: today alone we deleted nearly 100 new registers and it has been building in the last few days.

Wow. That sucks. Hopefully when the gates open again they'll have moved on.

Hmm, one of the subsections is about Hispanic women and girls. I was hoping for sexy naughty brides in need of a spanking, not naughty child brides who get a time out for flushing my keys down the toilet.

Really? My den is evil and located under my lair.

Once your den reaches middle age it will be off the kitchen - fear not!

Here's hoping that I have a place big enough for a den off of the kitchen. And a dining room would be great too. Til then, the den stays under the lair.

Its frustrating as fuck, they even register around the reCaptchas.

Harry

Why don't you start a temporary requirement, that along with the CAPTCHA, registrants have to Paypal, say, a 20 dollar fee and give us their bank account and Social Security numbers.

Can we block Russian IP addresses? Are they clever enough to spoof them?

Brynja

After some careful searching I disabled registration again.

I deleted another 15 this morning.

This is a temporary measure, and of course if anyone wants to register just follow the directions on the announcement.

However if the General wants to do battle then battle we shall do!

I don't know how many emails it generates for you guys, but it seems to me the easiest way to handle registration and avoid spamming is leave the registration by email as permanent. Tough to automate that, and even spammers trying to register manually will just take a pass.

But again, that may be easy for me to say if it means the admins are getting a few dozen emails a day as a result.

How do they do that? Is there actually a person typing that stuff in?

I'm not sure how, which makes it more frustrating.

I read that sometimes, yes, it's manual. Apparently its worth it to them to have someone manually enter the captcha.

based on the rate the register i would guess so.
