I have changed our selection of smilies -- gotten rid of most of the ones that went unused and added several that have seen lots of use in the past and on other boards. Hopefully this will make your smiley usage experience a better one. Please peruse the selection and give Cadet Belladonna a Smiley-Abuse run for her money!

I do believe General Kay added these just for me! :wasntme:

:spongebob: :patrick: :squidward: :gary: :mrkrabs: :plankton: :sandy:

Somehow I doubt anyone else will post them anywhere, ever. :heh:

Well, I must say that I liked the selection before. This board, as far as usage goes, is generally smilie-lite, but it was nice having the perfect ironic smilie at hand when needed. The new ones are dandy, but if there are going to be smilies, I prefer depth to the choices.

Now, in the last incarnation of NTL there were only something like ten smilies. I like that sort of restraint as much as I like breadth and depth.

So, what I'm saying is, love the new smilies, but I'd love to see the old ones back as well.

Nifty collection. I don't suppose you've come across a pout smilie yet have you? I really really really want oe of those, have wanted one for years now.

...If I were more shameless, I might suggest http://farm1.static.flickr.com/178/375611576_c3685dbcd8_o.gif . But of course, I'm not.

I do agree that there is a distressing lack of cat smilies... But otherwise, bravo! :happybounce:

Wonderful - thanks for the updated list

Can I make a request though? I needed one a week or so ago and I couldn't find anything appropriate

Something like :duckandcover: or :donshelmet: for when you or someone else posts something that you just know is going to get a negative response

Do we still have :sofa: ?

EDIT: I guess not

Yes they do all work. It's just that you didn't put any space between them, and forum software automatically inserts space after the 50th non-space character in a string.

No, Doc, we're talking about text strings (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/String_%28computer_science%29), not G-strings.
