The bullfighting bull is raised strong and passionate. It is bred with the best cows. But it is expected to slowly die in a fabulous display of pain and anguish in an arena for our entertainment. It is the CONAN of bulls!
The pasture bull leads a fat, lazy existence. It gets to wander around chomping grass and doing pretty much nothing at all. It might be picked to breed with the cows, or it might not. Life is idyllic and non-stressful. Eventually it will be led unsuspecting to a slaughterhouse, where an iron spike will be fired through its skull from behind, killing it instantly and without warning. This is the ELOI of bulls (see HG Wells), unaware that its blissful life masks a darker underside, and that it has no control over its eventual destiny as a McBull.
