If you don't already have this fun little puzzle game, it's very good. Definitely worth installing Steam somewhere (just tell it not to start automatically). While the play-through is a bit short, and the humor of the game's storyline has probably been dulled by the memes you've heard repeated a thousand times everywhere on the net, it's still good, and hey, it's free. :)
The offer is valid until the 24th. After that, it'll be for sale again at a non-zero price. But if you get it in the meantime, you'll still be able to play it anyway, still for free.

But it says it's for Mac or PC. I'm confused.
Damn. I still haven't upgraded my system. Can't use it yet.

My email box is jammed with folks telling me I HAVE to play this game. So.... dfmoss' kid sent me a link to a Youtube video. Real cool, with Diana Ross and shit. It helped seal the deal for me...
1. I don't like puzzle games.
2. I've never played a "first person shooter" and don't see how people do. Peripheral vision is everything!
3. I don't have any depth perception, so simulated depth perception, with odd lines of sight and shit, is lost on me. I judge distance by following motion, or by measuring what I see against my knowledge of how things are.
But hey, it looks like folks enjoy this. Makes more sense to me than the falling blocks game or many other computer fads. I wonder if the Linux folks are left out in the cold?

My first intro to the game was a female coworker of mine telling me of good times watching her SO make the 30 minute portal run.
Cheers for the heads up. The cake is not a lie!!!
I haven't played it before, but I was amused by all of the posts on youtube. Especially the Spore creature creator that made a spore beast shaped like the helper cube.
