How long does it take for the signup confirmation email to arrive?

I am trying to sign up my friend, but there is no mail so far... It's only been five minutes, but these things usually happen instantaneously.

Have her check her spam folder.

Otherwise, have an admin mark them as confirmed and they can start posting without the confirmation email.

Not in the spam folder either. Edit: apparently you don't need a confirmation email...
