My family is all kinds of weird.

The other night, we were watching a movie together - my mom, my sister, and my brother. I don't remember why, but my mom blurted out "And that is why you shouldn't misuse your butthole."

Then tonight, I was talking to my sister, who has to work tomorrow, asking her if I needed to get up early to make her pumpkin pancakes that I'd be making for the rest of the family later in the morning. I said "Oh man, they're so good. Like God's own nectar, I swear."

And my brother walks aroudn the corner and looks at me, "What, you mean like Jesus' cum?"

:boggle:

So, what holiday family weirdness happened to you guys?

Describing my family weirdness would take too much time and energy. I'm on the other edge of the continent, and I suspect that this is a good place for me to be. There's nothing quite like 3000 miles to put things into perspective!

Well, I talked to my sister and wished her a happy birthday; nothing weird there. But then my mother decided to text me, and I told her, yet again, to step off and leave me alone, that she made my life miserable for 23 years and I left to get away from her, and that she should stay out of my life.

The weird part is that there wasn't some weird pity-party voicemail from her when I got out of the theater for Sherlock Holmes.

My sister called me last night pretty upset. My mother apparently offered alcohol to her children at Christmas dinner and my sister has said no. My mom kept trying to say it was a family tradition that our relatives in Serbia want us to continue on here. Thing is my mom doesn't drink. And my sister's oldest son, who is 18, nearly died last month due to alcohol poisoning. My sister doesn't drink much either so her and her husband decided on a no alcohol rule in their home. Anyways my mom kept pushing the issue saying it would only be a little drink and my sister couldn't understand why my mother couldn't honor her wishes. My sister and her family left the dinner early because of this and now it looks like I'll have to travel back to hometown on Tuesday to take care of my mom's retirement party since my sister doesn't want anything to do with my mom until my mom apologizes. (I'm really glad I wasn't there for the holidays).

Other then that, my holiday went very well.

I had a great Christmas, actually. Spent time with the family, saw my sister who was down from California, ate a crap-ton of homemade tamales, after traditional turkey and ham the night before (I'm still stuffed) and then finished it off by going out drinking last night with my friends. I'm a bit hungover, but other than that, very happy. :)
