Just curious. I know the US and Canada do, and I know it's a very old tradition worldwide to have a "the harvest is in!" celebration, but I can't specifically recall any such holidays that are actively celebrated in other countries.

In the UK, Harvest Festival is celebrated in churches and schools. It originates from pagan times, and is to give thanks for a successful harvest. From what I remember, it's celebrated late September - people bring food to church/school, and it then gets given out to poor people.
There's no national holiday, though.

No.
To be fair though, sometimes we sacrifice American Tourists to our god.

Not one such holiday celebrated around the whole country no, but autumn harvest is celebrated in different fashions at somewhat different times locally.

Just to clarify who is from where...could...everyone please state where they are from. I look at name and all and for me at least I can't tell. In some cases it's easier to know like Nerfherder...okay UK. Dr Avalanche...Sweden based on the link he posted.

I figured that having "Location: UK" under my name, to the left of my post, and starting my post "In the UK..." would make it pretty obvious! :D

Not everyone has that on their handle. Pigs in Space and Harry Joy for example didn't and Black Angel when I first looked at this didn't have any location, but now it reads South Australia. I meant the comment for people who don't have anything listed.
Okay...how doe this grab you all. If you don't have a location listed or a handle that is very obvious that you are from somewhere other then the US...like Cat...first day I was here I she posted something and I knew based on the name "she is NOT American"...didn't realize she was Dutch living in the UK...but that's another issue..anyhow I digress. For now the default in my mind is "you are an American until I can figure out otherwise". :D

Just do like I do and assume everyone is from Argentina unless proven otherwise.

I'd much rather go to Chile instead. It was kinda surrel seeing their coffee shops that are "cafés con piernas". They started a few here in the DC area. Talk about an eye opener with your coffee.

I have always had South Australia as my location as long as you've been posting here. And PiS is my husband, so hope that clears that up for you.

Harry and I are currently living in a love compound buried a kilometer under the antarctic polar ice cap.
It's very romantic, but Hazza is running out of liniment.

Hřsttakkefest is not really celebrated in Norway, outside of churches and schools.
