So, I've committed to running at least 12 sessions of Werewolf the Apocalypse. I say at least because, while I'd like to run more than 12, and at least two of my players would really like me to run more than 12, a few of my friends are understandably hesitant(we just came out of an incredibly long, grinding Buffy "epic" that I know I've spoken of on here once or twice), and one of them(the former Buffy GM, who's still a little annoyed that we killed "her" game) is just steadfast, she doesn't want to make a long-term commitment to a game, blah blah blah(but hey, meanwhile would you like to commit to this really long D&D game I have planned that only has one possible outcome and a copious amount of Mary Sue NPCs?), and I finally bargained it down to 12 sessions, figuring I'd Scheherezade the group.
So! I find myself having to figure out where I'm going to leave them hanging in about three months. Here are the basic plot points I've got to work with; I don't want to overplan anything, because then that requires that I either completely overhaul it or railroad my players, neither of which I'm really a fan of. Any suggestions are appreciated.
-Pack of First Rank Garou.
-A Black Fury, A Silver Fang, a Silent Strider, A Bone Gnawer, and a Fianna.
-Bone Gnawer(Travis) is actually the illegitimate son of King Albrecht(who died trying to retrieve the Silver Crown in this universe).
-Albrecht's sword is stuck in Malfeas, shades of Excalibur(only now with thrice as much Hell!), waiting/needing to be retrieved.
-King Jonas Morningkill is absolutely insane and will try to take out anyone he sees as a threat to his primacy.
-Black Wings are a powerful pack of Black Spiral Dancers in NYC who are hunting the young werewolves; connected to various gangs around the area, with an underground Hive hidden amongst the subway and sewer tunnels.
-The Silent Strider has a family(Kinfolk girlfriend and girlfriend's mother) who can and should be messed with.
The big ones to hook are really the Black Fury(played by my PITA friend) and the Silver Fang, who is written and played as a bit of a rebellious wild child who tries to stretch a lot of the strictures of society. The other three I've already either got hooked or I've got ideas on how to hook them, but I'd like everybody to be into this so when session 12 rolls around, it's "no, no, don't stop!". Any suggestions?
