Looks like Altria Group (aka Philip Morris) is going to spin off its international opperations into a seperate company and they are raising their dividend.
I got in on the Kraft Spin off and made $6 a share plus a couple dividend payments while I was waiting for it to happen (another $1.50ish a share total).
I still have the Kraft shares and have made some money on those from the dividends.
The spin off details aren't until January so there is time to get in on this... the nice part is they upped their dividend to $.75 per share per quarter so that means that you are making 4% on your money while you wait for the spin off.
Thats not a bad return.
Just thought I'd share the info and the why its interesting.

Here is a simple one that should pan out over the next year to a very nice return.
Your large publicly traded banks have been unjustly beat to hell in the recent Sub-Prime Sliming of Wall Street.
Bank of America, Wachovia, Citibank, Wells Fargo and National City are all down close to $10 off their highs of the begining of the year.
So right now you can get them at Blue Light Special rates and to be 100% honest if these big boys crash there are MUCH bigger problems afoot and you should be stocking up on botteld water and ammo.
On average they all pay around a 5% return on your money while you wait for them to go back up to where they should be.
So there you have it if you are willing to wait a bit and make nice returns while you do so you could make upwards of $8-12 a share if you include the dividend.
Hell even if you decide to keep the shares and not sell when they go up over the short run they are all still damn nice stocks with good growth potential and great (and safe) returns.

yep, typically some energy company no one has ever heard about - what I am curious is if the spam is successfull in increasing the share price....
I would think so, or else, people would stop sending them out.

The scam involved is called Pump and Dump.
You buy a shit load of shares in some crappy noname penny stock
You then send out those emails to the western world and people buy shares... and lots of them cause they are cheap.
The share prices goes up quickly on the increased volume
You dump you shares sticking those you triccked with theirs
Its illegal.
