I don't know if anyone noticed my absence over the last week or so. I had really sick kids and then I had a family wedding to attend out of town. My cousin Bernadette got married. It was a beautiful old Byzantine Catholic ceremony. I got to see the priest that confirmed me back when I was a child and he also was the same priest who baptized and confirmed all of my children. (In the Byzantine right kids get all 3 major sacraments as babies usually.)

The reception was held out in the mountains next to Mill Creek and the brunch the next morning was held at one of the local vineyards. I took my oldest two kids with me since my younger two were still really sick with the flu. They stayed home with Singularity.

Here are some pics from my trip. :)

First thing we did was go visit my horses. They are staying at my parents house since they have the pasture space. Alyssa was feeding her horse apples while Nicole's black pony watched and waited for her turn.

This one is a picture of my cousin Bernadette and her french hubby Sami. He has a thick accent but we could understand him. They will be moving to France in the next year.

The original picture I took was very choppy since it was from a distance so I took out the background and edited out my cousin's cigarette so her relatives would see, hehe.

My daughters were the first and last ones on the dance floor. They dance for 5hrs straight. I don't know where they found all that energy.

This is a short video clip of my dad dancing with my daughters. He'd kill me if he knew I taped this. He doesn't usually allow pictures of him. He's kind of weird that way.

The next morning we went to the vineyard for brunch. Nicole stopped to smell all the pretty flowers.

My oldest daughter took this picture of the vineyard.

And finally a close up of the unripe grapes..... still pretty.

If you don't mind me asking, which of the 30 churches that use the Byzantine Rite handled this wedding?

St. Francis Catholic Church which holds both Roman and Byzantine Catholic ceremonies. I also believe they hold some Orthodox masses as well. The main church is in Seattle. http://www.stjohnchrysostom.org/

When I was a kid we used the Roman Catholic churches in town since the congregation was only 40 people or so. My uncle is a deacon but doesn't hold services anymore since he is also a doctor during the day. When he retires next year he's going to become a priest.

I was sitting in the back of the church so I don't have any close up shots of the Priest and other clergyman that were up front helping with the ceremony.

Those photos are great, LF! Your daughters look really pretty and the bride and groom really make a handsome couple. What a gorgeous series--the horse, the vineyards, and the flowers! I'm sorry the other kids were sick as it looks like your daughters had a really nice visit with their granddad! Is your family Armenian by any chance?

I'm gonna sound like Izrador here, but prominent tattoos on bride in wedding dress = classy

Thanks.:) And no my family isn't Armenian on my dad's side. They are Slovak, Black Foot Indian and Irish. The last name was Martonique when they were living in the old country (as my dad calls it). When my great grandfather came over to the states they dropped the ique and added ick.

As for the tattoos all of my cousins from my uncle (who is the deacon) got tattoos once they were out of the house. I guess that was their way of rebelling.
