So as most of you know, but I will quickly recap, after my mother passed away in Nov. 2007 I decided to go back to school for my early childhood teaching license. I have ran a home day care, worked at a daycare center, and for Early Head Start so I knew it would be something I enjoy and while not that great compared to other states compared to other jobs in the early childhood field has a really good pay ladder (start at 30K, after 3 years go to 40K, and after another 3 if you have you MA you make a min of 50K).

Well, after a year of schooling I got my level one license and found a short term until the end of the school year position in a special education preschool. And I loved it. I was there 8 weeks, its a long commute, but I love my principal, the other teachers, the kids, and the program as a whole. But because I was short term my principal could not offer me a full time position in the fall until all the current employees who wanted to move around, moved around, and open hiring was approved. It was a very scary 6 weeks where I was not sure if I would have a job this fall or not due to budget cuts and the like but....

I GOT THE CALL FROM HR AND AM NOW A FULL TIME PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHER!!!!!!

I got my union paperwork in the mail and I am now a secured employee. I am so happy.

Right on! Congratulations. We need more school teachers, and we really need more school teachers that love what they do. :)

Congratulations! It's great to know that a person who actually cares about the kids and likes what they are doing is out there.

It makes your subtle ploy for world domination through the molding of adolescents seem to signify a bit less incipient doom.

oh shit emerald, It's a good thing NL doesn't want to teach: your kids might end up like PIS.
