Seems my work PC is dying on me and I'm getting a new one... yeah.

I really need to find a better backup solution for my work stuff, after 6 years I seem to have collected a huge amount of crap... 7gig.

Fuckers wont give me a burner! I can use the network one but I could just about type the shit faster than it copies... our security team is over vigilant and doesn't give a crap about internal functionality so long as we are unassailable... IMO they would be happiest if we could just cut off all external connectivity.

Our security assholes used to just blanket say "no" to everything, from CD burners to email.

Ultimately we stopped trying to find solutions that would appeal to them so they could thumbs down, and said "here's our requirement, you tell us what's acceptable to you".

That shut them up quick, and we got our cd burners and everything else. Fuckers don't like doing any work, and no to everything is the easiest semblance of doing their jobs, apparently. Take away the option and they tend to back off.
