Seriously, this is the kind of thing that I fear could cause brain cancer.

FRIED SHRIMP!
Apparently there is another movie by the same director that is just
as wonderiferous: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zym-kjKOym0

The geisha robots are rather predictable, but I must say, I did take a fancy to that walking robotic pagoda with the giant gloved hand emerging from its upper stories! It's like some kind of Metabolist nightmare.
ps. I love fried shrimp! May I recommend this as a cartoon before the main feature?

The terrible voice-over for the ad is what has me both amused
and aghast.

I haven't seen Machine Girl, but I did see Sukeban Boy once. It's the movie this dude made before MG. It was extremely stupid and tasteless as well as sounding a bit similar in themes and style. One of my buddies had to walk out of it (because his girlfriend was there and she was walking out of it ).
If you think this is awesome, you might get a kick out of Tokyo Gore Police or the newer Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl.

That should be quoted on their posters.

Machine Girl is what every z grade film should aspire to. It's terrible by most any metric, but it's so much better than any film SyFy airs on Saturday nights.

I recently watched Machine Girl during a "bad movie 3-fer" and it was
a bit confusing. Confusing in that it was like what if a Sentai
(Power Rangers/Ultra Man) style production studio was trying to make
a z-grade 80's gorehound film (Ex: Street Trash, TROMA).
Come tothink of it, a better example was if Takashi Miike' was directing
Sentai films.
We watched Tokyo Gore Police and Meatball Machine as well and to
rank them I'd say it broke down like this:
1. Meatball Machine
[ Best plot over all, The effects broke down some times but it had the
most consistant quality and never tried to be funny, which worked.]
2. Tokyo Gore Police
[ At times too bizarre for it's own good and the end fight is really
really stupid.]
3. Machine Girl
[ Really inconsistant all around. It had a bad habit of humping Quentin Taratino's leg creatively. That and the "humor" detracted big time.]
Good news is the girls in TGP and MG were pretty fine eye candy and
the effects were for the most part entertaining, disturbing but entertaining.

By the way, Takashi Miike's latest movie (Yatterman) IS a Sentai film. :D

What a ripoff. The Geisha Chainsaw is a circular saw, not a chainsaw.

Could be a translation error. The Swedish word for "chainsaw" is "motorsåg", which translated back becomes "motorsaw". It applies to any kind of motorized saw, and it's possible other languages use similar words.

I am both amused and unnerved by the notion of this...
:what: :D
Yatterman is a tribute/retread of a sentai fromt the 70's.
I would think he will keep it close to the feel of the original.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the action will be CRAZAY,
but odds are he will keep the WTF toned down to pay
respect to the original material.
Mind you, I have been wrong now and again...

Oh no, you're right, I saw it last week and it's very kiddy-like. Miike is not all about over-the-top gore. He can do pretty much any style from gory or over the top action (like Ichi) to kid movies (like Yatterman and Great Yokai War).
