Another reason I hate Sarkozy: he puts morons in key governmental places. Here, the minister of Foreign Affairs does not know the difference between dairy products and people oppressed by the Chinese government.

I thought you'd find it refreshing to hear about a stupid politician that isn't American, British or Canadian for a change. They're just as stupid in the rest of the world.

well, it's a misspronounciation... I'm not sure how to pronounce that either to be honest! But his message was rather ... noncommittal wasn't it?

Some more background about Kouchner...IIRC.
* He was the co-founder of doctors without borders, and, after some power struggles, founded another similar organization "doctors of the world".
* For most of his political carrier, he was a major figure of the left, but was often said to be bitter about him not having high profile ministers.
* In the 90, he has done some lobbying for Total, to help with the use of slave labour in Burmia. Received a lot of money to say that Total did not use slave labor...
* In 2007, after having supported Segolène Royal for the presidency, he switched his loyalties and became the foreign affair minister of Sarkozy.
* His wife is the journalist Christine Ockrent, who has been named director of the State possessed France 24, which depend of the ministry of foreign affairs, which is held by him.
* Under his command was State secretary Rama Yade, whose port-folio was human rights. She has been removed for this post and he said that the creation of such a post was a mistake, because human rights and foreign affairs do not work well together.
* He was the most "pro-war" in the left during the iraki crisis, or at least the less hostile to the idea. Probably because he was the inventor of the "duty of interference". However, this duty of interference seems to be limited to poor and powerless states.
* He is a pretentious douchebag, having been slowly corrupted by power and money greed as well as egomania. He is reviled as a traitor by the left for abnegate his ideals in exchange of power and republican decorum.
* He use the word "yoghurt" instead of "Uigur", while being the foreign office minister, and I can assure you that the two words don't sound the same at all in French.
