I never was interested in him. The first time I saw him (them?) I just thought he looked ridiculous.

But at the same time, he just screams four color, and nostalgically I put him up there with giant genius apes.

No, but I did get a kick out of it when the Supreme Hydra (really a Skrull infiltrator) scared the crap out of his peons by crawling inside that giant mouth when they were out of the room, and then making it talk like a puppet before crawling out to laugh at them. "I AM MODOK! FEAR MY BIG, GIANT HEAD!"

Here is an article on MODOK that explains my thoughts on the character pretty well.
It also does a good job of explaining the levels of villainy in comics.
