Good advice. One more I'd like to add, which a friend of mine gives his pupils: If you want a design, hang it over your bed for a year. Yes, a year. Then if you still like it after that, have it tattooed.

That is a useful posting for anyone considering a tattoo. I have childhood memories of my family doctor having to chase me and my sister around the office just to give us normal inoculations. Needless to say, as adults, neither of us has had an urge to subject ourselves to any activity requiring us to get stuck (short of giving blood)! It's quite the art form and can be beautiful, but I'm keeping my skin as is. Boy am I dull. :)
