With the wannabee of Somalia in the news I wondered who your favorite is ?

It's a toss up between Errol Flynn and Johnny Depp for me

Never understood the fascination with pirates. Always just wanted the fuckers dead.

Errol Flynn gets the top spot because of two movies... Best pirate movie ever, Flynn's Captain Blood. Two-for-one, Errol Flynn and Basil Rathbone. Always my fave. Then there's The Sea Hawk and Flynn as Geoffrey Thorpe, plus Donald Crisp, Alan Hale! and Claude Rains. There's also Against all Flags and maybe some others I can't think of. PLUS the fact that it's said that Errol Flynn was a pirate in real life at one time, maybe.

Second best, The Princess Bride and Cary Elwes' Dread Pirate Roberts.

After them, Yul Brynner's Jean Lafitte, Tyrone Power in The Black Swan, Wallace Beery as Long John Silver in Treasure Island, and The Black Pirate - Douglas Fairbanks, Sr.

:D A little noticeable huh? Been playing the games since I was 10 and loved every one... except the last one which had some weaknesses. Given how amazing the 3D rendering in Grim Fandango was, the graphics were disappointing.
