I enjoy reading and writing -- lot more of the first than the second, anymore, and I read everything. Fiction, non-ficton, fantasy, mysteries, horror, backs of cereal boxes, doesn't matter. I write mainly fantasy/horror. In my spare time, I fiddle about with websites -- I like designing and HTML/CSS. I'd like to learn programming.

Anyhoo, about me -- I'm a liberal atheist (*gasp!* One of them!), politically-minded, and I call and write my representatives on a regular basis. I'm reasonably sure they groan and sigh heavily whenever they see me on the caller ID or in the inbox. "Oh, shit. Her again. What's she bitching about now?" I believe the government's got no business sticking it's nose in my private life, and should concern itself with running the country, not my sex life.

I drink a lot of coffee, smoke a lot of cigarettes, and eat a lot of chocolate. I don't drink or do drugs. I was born cranky and demanding, and since it's working out for me, I figure I'll stay that way. I have been known to be sarcastic, and have little patience for willful ignorance. I've also been called "nice", although I think those people just weren't paying attention. ;)

I have opinions, and I'm not afraid to share them.

And for those playing at home, troll means someone from "below the bridge" i.e. south of the Mackinac Bridge. Yooper means someone from the UP (Upper Peninsula). Due to the huge cultural differences between the two parts of the state, there is a decent amount of good-natured ribbing between trolls and Yoopers :)

I'm in the Tri-City area, which is technically mid-Michigan, but I grew up north of here. Good to meet another Michigander! Yoopers are good people, and it's a gorgeous area. You're lucky to be out at the moment, though. Our economy's so bad, there's no jobs whether you're in upper, lower, or anywhere in between.

Heh. When i was growing up unemployment in the UP was 18 %. That kind of set the bar high for my opinion of "bad" unemployment :(

I am quite poor, for Dutch standards. However I don't have kids and live in a very cheap customs shed I call home, so relatively speaking a lot of my little money can be spent on life's essentials like books, records, internet connections, alcohol and comics.

I can hardly be called little as I am indeed 6 foot tall.

I am Dutch, cannot argue with that. Also a girl, though the SO has accused me of unnecessary male-ness after I had spent over an hour in a comic shop, and according to BBC science I am an average male.

I have fortunately many places to go, including a customs shed.
