Figured I'd spin this off into it's own thread, rather than clutter up the Superman thread.

I think Joe Q has become a reoccurring joke!:D

I respect the contributions that Joe Quesada has made to Marvel. Helped create the Marvel Knights(PG-13) imprint, helped bring Marvel back from the brink of bankruptcy, and has brought in a bunch of cool indy creators.

However, he also behaves like a frat boy, making faces at DC all the time, and then wondering why DC doesn't want to have anything to do with him in the way of crossovers(I'm thinking most of all of the Daredevil/Batman crossover that never was or will be), doesn't have much discipline as an editor(see the massive lateness of some comics; other companies have lateness problems, but Marvel's seem to be the worst), and he seems to be in love with mega-events.

Joe is kind of a doofus. Exhibit A is the yellow band he wears around his wrist. Those trendy things make me wan to hand out curb stomps each time I see one of them.

Though, to be fair, I think he knows what he's doing more than say, Dan DiDido.

Glad I'm not the only one who those wrist bands piss off. You don't see me walking around with a fucking HRC wrist band, and an anti-abuse wrist band. I just fucking donate money to the cause. Significant money, not a fucking dollar that's being eaten up the cost of embossing a motherfucking rubber band.

I'll have to think on Didio vs. Quesada before I post, and for now, off to sleep I go. *flounce*

I'm still tempted to make a shirt with a red white and blue shield and the words "Fuck You Joe Q, Cap was Right!!"

Thumbing your nose at the competition isn't normally something that gets you style/class points, and it can alienate people that you might want to work with/have work for you, later on.

Yup, exactly. He and Bendis got fucking butthurt over Didio saying he didn't want anything to do with them until Joe Q was gone from Marvel, but really, what did they expect? It also didn't help that the timing of the pitch was such that they wanted to pair a Marvel B-lister with a DC A-lister who had an upcoming movie(this was before Batman Begins), I'm sure, but when you spend your time spitting on someone, don't be surprised when they don't invite you in for a drink.

To elaborate on my offhanded insult of Joe Q. I agree that he seems to want to continue a pissing contest with DC for no good reason.

The tardiness of his personal comics and Marvel's as a whole is criminal. Example: Civil War and Ultimates 2. If Dc can get 52 out on time, why can't Joe get his shit together at the House of Big fucking Ideas!

He also was in charge of the X-Men in the 90's- one of the darkest decades in comics. He almost destroyed the X-Men brand single handedly.

How much is an X-Men (2nd ed.) #1 worth?? Nothing? You got it! That's what happens when you print 10 million of them!

I think there is a reason that there is a growing movement of people demanding the end of monthly comics. The reason they want just trades and a radical change in the business is in part due to the way Marvel and DC are run.

CDisplay is a great program**, and the money is there waiting for the comic companies to make. Think of what WotC has got for the scans of the old D&D stuff and imagine 50 years of comics just waiting to be scanned and sold.... :D

**Though I'm sure there are other cool programs as well.

Yeah, how one can just handwave not getting your big-name blockbuster titles out on time, I'm not quite sure.
