Greetings!

Geez...so, do we have Karma, or do we have Rep??????

if we have Karma, how do you vote, or use it?

Thank you!

We've got both... though Rep's more of an "instant feedback" mechanism than true reputation now. Karma gives overall rep to a user, rather than based on one post. Just use the little white triangle beside the Karma number.

Rep is just a comment, it's not positive or negative. You leave someone a 'rep' comment on a post, to comment on that post without having to post in the thread or send a private message.

Karma is a system of rating USERS, not individual POSTS. If you give a USER a 5 karma, it sticks forever. If you later decide that the user kinda pisses you off, you can change his vote to a -1 or whatever else. Everyone's karma vote then gives them an overall karma value. Click on someone's karma arrow, then click on Karma Statistics to see overall stats for the karma system.

I know it's probably just a consequence of the statistics not having a representative data pool to draw from yet, but I find it amusing that Brynja and Janos are both on the Most Liked and Most Hated lists. :)

I think your karma value may also be weighted by the karma of those that have given you votes.

The function is not just an average... eh?

Well, you have two karma votes, one for 1 and one for 4 (which was me, by the way :D ), and your karma rating is a 2.5. So, yes, it does seem to be just an average.

Well we are the sort you either love or hate :D

First time I have understood this. I have just been sending people kudos with the scale thingy.

Also, another useful note, there is a time limit between when you can give a different person karma. However, once you give someone karma, you can go back and change your karma vote for them as much as you want, with no time restrictions.

As I went to use your kind directions I discovered that one! :)
