What did you do to deserve this?!?The people who where in the live reading got to roll a d20 to see what prize they get from the prize table... and I rolled a 1.
But really, those Kenzer folks are nice, I got to pick two prizes!

Being the "picture taker" means being left out sometimes, ya know.
The quality difference between my pics and your pics, however, is the kicker. I seriously need a camera, and hereby vow I will use my camera phone only for surprises after then. :)

Even not gaming there's a ton to do at Gen Con - geek music, cool stuff in the dealer room, dinners and parties with internet people - it'd be great to have you around :D

I totally agree - there are very few pics of me in my 7 years of GenCon because I spend 99% of the time behind the camera.
I'm really impressed with the quality of pics I get from that camera. My camera is a Canon Powershot A410 3.2MP Digital Camera and is small enough to fit in my pocket, but not fragile. I got it on amazon.com.

I've been trying to remember your username - it was a pleasure to meet you and your partner. And it certainly was fun trying to organise communal food for two veggies, a carnivore and someone who didn't eat cheese :D

yep - in fact, you could even just about not even go to the convention center and have a good time at gencon these days. :)
more and more people from around these parts go every year, so if you're ever able to make it i'm sure you'll enjoy yourself!

Thanks. I bumped the ISO right up to 1600 and used the widest aperture - f/3.5 in aperture priority mode. That still only gave me a shutter speed of 1/13, so I braced myself against the railing to get a steady shot.
I like to think that the quality of the pictures had something to do with the photographer as well as the camera... ;)
I am also in awe of Nerfy's awesome camera.
What model is it ?
It's a Nikon D50. It's now discontinued, but you can get its replacement, the D40, for about $500.

Maybe. My problem is having too much other shit going on. This year, my wife inconveniently scheduled a c-section to overlap with Gen-Con. Last year, I was bludgeoning the contractors working on the kitchen reconstruction.

depending on future gencon scheduling, you may have to miss out in subsequent years too depending on when the baby's birthday party is held.
the date does jump around a lot though, so who knows. this year it coincided with our wedding anniversary (and next year too, if it's on the weekend of the 15-17th). sometimes it's a few weeks earlier than our anniverary though. don't know when it will happen in 2008.
