Considering that the MRE mark 1 wasn't fit for human (or marine for that matter) consumption I'ld hope there was SOME improvement in 20+ years

MRE's are impressive from a technical standpoint but a true horror show from a cuisine standpoint.

After reading some of the reviews I am 1/2 tempted to try and pick up one of these from the local army surplus store once they come out just to try the pudding.

MREs are horrible, but useful. I take them whenever I go camping, and if I want to remain plugged the whole weekend, they do the trick.

AWESOME comments. No bullshit, lots of humor. All they want are fucking beverage heaters, tobacco, and less motherfucking gas! :rotfl:

The DOD banned tobacco in c-rats before I went in(1978) so don't look for cigs anytime soon with the current health nazi's in charge.

I heard about this on the radio and it cracked me up some of the comments made. I understand that there are some things that they can not do with those meals but I agree that they should make them better tasting for all the men and women in the service. They deserve much better than what they get.
