I'm sure it was discussed before on NTL, but I do love this movie. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Lucas Haas(and a bunch of other people you've probably never heard of, I say this because I sure as hell don't know any of the names) in a hard-boiled detective story set in a California high school. Sheer joy.

I thought the plot was interesting but the dialog was a little too cutesy for me. Just too much jargon and inside references which in the end was distracting from the movie. I thought the acting was great, but the jargon sucked the enjoyment out of the movie for me.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess; I liked the jargon in the movie.

I think the jargon would have worked better in a TV show format where you can get used to it over time. I just think it was distracting in the shorter movie format.

I'm with you on this one, Glass. I really enjoyed this movie too. Original concept, well-executed, underrated.
Lukas Haas as a criminal mastermind who eats cold cereal served by his mom was especially clever.

Brilliant film. A lot of fun to watch. I gotta say, I thought the jargon worked well with the film noire presentation. It was a very clever film and very creative. Makes me wish my highschool days had been that interesting. heh.
