View Full Version : Thowing my back out
I aggravated an old injury Thursday, it's better today but I can still feel the ache from my lower back and hip. I've done the Epsome Salts treatment (thanks Mollygrew) and it helped, anyone suggest anything else ?

Light and gentle stretching helps.
This is more expensive but my mom who has a slowly deteriorating hip found the tempur pedic bed to be super helpful. She said it was worth every penny.
I need to get a new mattress anyway , the old one is wore out

Those chemical heat packs they sell at phr\armacies with the strap that holds them in place is the only reason I can even work some days. I swear by them.

Check your arch supports, if you're out of alignment sometimes it can be traced to your feet and it can exacerbate problems if you don't have enough support.

Man, I have no advice for you, but I do have sympathy. I hope your back feels better soon. :(

Heat. Stretching. See to the strength of your core. If you've also had achey knees or hips, I'd follow through on QJ's suggestion and see a podiatrist about arch support.

A chiropractor gave me arches a couple of weeks ago, for the first time in my life. I even asked my mom over the weekend and she told me I always had flat feet. He put my feet back in the proper shape and then gave me an orthopedic arch insert and it's amazing what's different.

Yep. Build a home on a shoddy foundation, and that home eventually falls apart. Flat foot can lead to ankle pain, shin splints, and serious problems with the knees, hips, and spine... all the way up to the neck.
Better today but I'll try all of these.
The core reson is a cracked vertibra when I was 22 in the Army, did a flip off a 577 ComTrac (grease) and landed on concrete
