Guests to Members Ratio

Is it just me, or do we have a remarkably high number of Guests compared to Users. I mean, last week sometime there was me and PWD online and like 20 Guests. What gives? I see new members register, lately with odd names that don't make all that much sense, but still registering, at least. What's up with the Guests?

Are they all just Members with Invisible Mode enabled? Lurkers spying on us to make sure we aren't hatching some evil plot? The FBI trying to bring us down because they're scared of our pink weaponry? Lost message board newbs who are watching all the cool like kids with their faces pressed against the glass of Macy's at Christmas? A bipartisan coalition of Obama and McCain aides determined to find a way to incorporate KT's into their next ad campaign? Or is it a rogue group of Spoony's alternate personalities who refuse to go home?

Fuck it. This deserves a poll. As soon as I figure out how make it (friggin' tinfoil hat keeps blocking my view) I will. :shhh:

I came back to see if anyone else voted, and what's the first thing that comes to me, looking at my poll? There's no: "Looking at pr0n ..duh" option. Of COURSE the guests are invisible people looking at porn. Just because I enjoy looking at the porn in between posting doesn't mean that everyone else is. They're probably just looking at porn, don't intend to post, and wondering why the fuck I haven't posted porn myself instead of making stupid polls. I need to neg-rep myself.

And then we can lock Urge Interchange (http://www.kaytastrophe.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=15) to everyone unless they post at least a couple times a week. It's all about the carrot and the stick. The carrot. And the motherfucking stick. :D

Yeah, that would have definitely worked. I had thought about adding SOMETHING pr0n related, but then forgot as I was adding options, heh.

They have to be here for something. I just stare, fixated, down at the number of guests (I don't think they could be Invisible Members, but I wasn't sure enough to not include the option--I just think they'd be counted as Members, invisible or not) and wondered what they're doing and why aren't they posting.

I mean, there are 8 Members on right now, and 8 Guests. You expect one or two, but there are quite a few! I suppose I was hoping to encourage a few of them to register and vote in the poll. Or at least the pr0n--we'll tackle getting them to post later. ;)

I think I lurked (sans membership) for something like 2 years before my first post on whatever incarnation of NL was there at the time.

I've seen Spoony brewing bitter tears into fine wine, face pressed against the glass of our station. We've always offered to let him in to sit comfortably so his wine doesn't float away, but he seems to prefer his lengthier perspective.
