Razorbacks Rave Over Woo Pig Chewy

SEARCY, Ark. – What tasty treat that rhymes with “Kung-Fu Louie” comes in a pint-sized container, is frozen and is a big hit among Arkansas Razorback fans?

Searcy, Arkansas-based Yarnell’s Ice Cream Co. has created a new ice cream flavor, Woo Pig Chewy, that has “struck a nerve” among University of Arkansas Razorback fans, reports the Searcy Daily Citizen.

“We’ve had to quadruple our production to keep up with the needs of our supermarket customers,” Yarnell’s Ice Cream President Rogers Yarnell told the newspaper, adding that demand for Woo Pig Chewy “has been extremely strong in every part of the state.” He also said that a percentage of Woo Pig Chewy sales will be donated to the university’s athletic program.

The newspaper notes that the ice cream flavor, which combines brownie-flavored ice cream with real, chewy brownies and brownie dough, is supported by aggressive promotions among Yarnell’s retail customers. Woo Pig Chewy is available statewide at more than 800 supermarket and convenience store locations.

I'll ask our Yarnell's guy about it. But, I have to ask, is it marketed as a Razorback fan-snack? Because, if it is, it will just sit on the shelf and rot no matter how good it is, and frankly, I can't eat a case of ice cream.

Thanks!

Hey, I've got a bunch of cases of Budweiser wrapped in Volunteer Orange labels that I spent an hour trying to tell the Bud rep won't sell around here. Want some? Only $19.99!

Sure thing. That'll be, like, real soon. Honestly. I go to Arkansas ALL the time. I mean, jeepers, it's so close. I can almost see it from here.... Ooh, look! Arkansas! I feel good just knowing it's close by. Why ruin things by actually going there?

And nope, I don't carry the Woo Pig flavor, but I'll keep my ears open for any requests. So, need any Vols Light?
