How do you know? Did she see the small pole your GF is holding and get homesick?

We struck up a conversation with her. When girls get drunk, they tell to blabber. And when they are strippers and are drunk, they tend to blabber even more, apparently. :)

So I've been growing my bangs out for the last few months. They are finally down to my chin. I've never not had bangs so it's still going to take time to get use to this. My daughter took a couple pics of Singularity and I tonight. I also included a pic of my son who is in his "face making" phase.

What is a "bangs" and why is it on your chin?

Is this some wierd American sex thing?

You've never heard of the term bangs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bang)? Definition: Fringe (hair), hair that is combed forward and cut short on the forehead, known as bangs in North America. So I guess it is an American thing after all.

I wasn't aware that bangs was an American term.

Fringe.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fringe_(hair)

The term fringe refers to the resemblance of the short row of hair to ornamental fringe trim, such as that often found on shawls.

The term bangs is widely used in North America but is not widely recognized elsewhere

Nah. You can tell by my pale scalp that until yesterday I had a full head of hair. I just get excited about my appearance because I've made a drastic change when I do shave my head, so I take pictures and show them. Last couple of times I've shared pics it's been because I shaved. The first few pics I showed had hair though.

Nah, it was full. Or really, really close to it. My hair is just REALLY fine, so that short you can't really see where my hairline starts. And the pailness doesn't start at my hairline.

Seriously, my head isn't shaved in that picture. Not even close really, but my hair is like chinchilla hair. You can pour water on my head and it runs off without my hair getting wet. Which is why I have gone the bald route. My hair won't style, and I'm tired of flattops.

You wouldn't believe how when I go to a different barbershop the person always says something like, "Wow, you have good hair for a flat top!" or usually, "Wow, you har goo hair fo frat top!"

But... but... that doesn't even look like plaid. That looks like stripes. :(

It's a bit difficult to explain in simple terms, but here goes...

The effect you're talking about is called "cross-color". If you've ever tried tuning in to a radio station with a really cheap radio when there's another radio station on a nearby frequency then you'll have probably heard the other station coming through a bit. It's a little bit the same with cross-color.

When CRTs went from black and white to color the extra information had to be added in such a way that black-and-white CRTs could still receive the image. To do this, they separated the color signal from the intensity signal, sent the intensity as a regular black-and-white image and put the color signal next to it, and very close to where the information for very high frequency intensity signals are such as those you get when the signal is changing between black and white very quickly, i.e. a pin-stripe shirt (this is a gross oversimplification btw, but you get the idea). Older CRTs didn't have very good filters in them, so the high-frequency image data "bleeds" into the area where the color signal is and the colors go all funny. Nowadays CRTs/LCDs have much better electronics and the individual circuits use what are called "comb filters", i.e. filters that are better at selecting the exact parts of the signal they want and rejecting other signals nearby.

Here's a good one... At a White House lunch for the publisher and editors of the New York Times the president revealed that intelligence files contained material that it was against the national interest to reveal because it would "blacken the reputation of every President since Truman." "Like what?" asked one of the editors. "Like assassinations!" said Gerald.

Last night I colored my hair. I went with a lighter Auburn then I normally go for and I got bright red. :boggle: The color is growing on me. It took 2 boxes of color to get all my hair. I'm thinking about cutting about 6 inches off. The length goes to my waist now. I haven't cut my hair in over a year. Sing wants me to cut bangs back into my hair. I don't know about that. I'm still trying to decide what to do with. I got through a large bottle of conditioner every week just to keep it manageable.

Bangs? Gurl, ya'll ain't out in the boonies no more. Ya'lls in the big city! Don't go fer bangs lessens yer gonna go for the whole Betty Boop, LA ironic thang.

The only real downside is, you have loverly eyes and the hair may sometimes hide them. The plus side is, the hair is not only a good way to cover up those hard-to-explain bruises, it can actually help to protect you from getting them in the first place!

If you look closely you'll notice my left eye there is still puffy around the eye brow line. I put make up on to hide the fading bruise.:o I wish I didn't look so dorky in pictures.

My daughters like my hair the way it is. They don't want me to cut bangs either. So far Sing and one other person vote for bangs. And I know I can't pull off the Betty Boop thing.

You look real good in that pic L.

Thanks! And yes I've lost 33lbs since we moved to the Boston area. I'm really happy with that. :D

The other day, I did a "self-portrait" with hand-held camera so I could put something current on Facebook and assure my friends and family that I'm not dying. I even forced myself to smile this time. Since I'll be out for another week, I'm letting a little fuzz grow. I really would like to have a beard again, since I spent most of my adult life with one. We'll see...

You look younger Harry. Reverse ageing?

Harry

I actually don't get the "my gosh, I thought you were younger" type comments that I used to, so no, I think it's just the lack of a beard in this pic. I scrolled way back to see when I last uploaded something, and it was the last time I had a beard oddly enough. And the last time I was stuck at home, too. I guess there's a connection.

yeah, it's really odd for me to actually like a picture of myself. But I think I actually look good there.

A noble visage. Some people grow more handsome/beautiful with age and experience.

I think I mentioned that I'm no longer a red head anymore. The girls took some pics yesterday. (Yes I know I need to learn how to smile.)

Edit: I added one of me and my 2 youngest girls. I'm sort of smiling in that pic.

Those are nice shots, LF. How do you get your hair to be so shiny?
Your daughters are just gorgeous.

Thanks! I think I got lucky to have such cute kids.

Lots and lots of conditioner. If I don't condition every day my hair ends up frizzing out and I look like I've been electrocuted or something.

I see you've trained one of your kids at least the same pose you like to use. :) There's always one. In my family, it was one of my grandma's who had a pose and she passed it on to my sis.

Cute pics.

That would be Nicole. She's my 7yr old "fashionista". She's all about the pose, hehe.

I agree. Please post the next picture in the adult forum. It's required for all n00bs to submit a revealing photo.

He never did, did he? Pfft. Wuss.

Here's one that actually taken of me - BY ANOTHER HUMAN BEING!!! To prove I do interact with them once in a while. I was close to my car, though, in case I had to make a quick getaway. Notice the shock on my face:

We had some professional portrait pics done with the bubba (we got given a session for Xmas but only just used it). She's 9&1/2 months old now - where did that time go? Some of you may have seen these on Facebook already. :)

My friend walked up when I was looking at your picture, and said "Oh, she's a pretty woman, who is that?"

She looks lovely, doc, how old is she?

You know Trainz, after all the shit you endured after posting your own daughter's picture, I'm sincerely shocked you did not say something more inappropriate.

Do onto others friend, do onto others... the people who attacked me thus have no idea what it means to be a parent.

Again, what does she do? What's her field?

It's been awhile since I posted a new one, and not all of you are on FB, so I figured I'd post my latest. Iowa Arts Fest after sundown tonight, snagged a new mug from the root beer stand, and the drink (sadly) was a lot better then the music the band was playing.

Nice. I couldn't help noticing that you appear to be wearing a kilt? That is correct I am. :D

http://www.utilikilts.com/Nope, I went with a small company starting up that was trying to provide an affordable alternative to Utilikilts... on the downside while I had custom measurements and such for it and paid a lot less then a UTK would have been, I had to deal with what was supposed to be a four month wait list.

Me as Morgan le Fay during Moon Design's Jeff Richard's excellent Supervillain freeform. Unfortunately I had to drop out shortly after the start due to the Con Bug, but I have been informed it was epic. Some gobsmacked tourists in the castle couldn't help but stare openmouthed at this display of wierdos. Can you name them all?

Here's a picture to show you that I can be photographed without doing the same pose every time.

My mom took this in the lobby of the theater after we were done watching "Wicked" in New York. My sister and 2 oldest daughters went with us. I really had a wonderful time. I'm so happy I got to go.
