Obama or McCain, Barr or Nader?

I can honestly say that I'm not sure yet. McCain's platform aligns more closely with my own ideas regarding government spending and taxation (not near enough by a mile, but closer) but it also carries the price of continuing social conservatism and that's something I loathe. Obama's ticket would almost certainly restrict my right to own firearms and that's also something that I loathe. I feel like I need medication, shit.
I might just vote for Barr, since he's actually running for the party that most closely represents me, but it's hard to not feel like that's throwing away a vote. Of course, if no one ever does it, it will ALWAYS be throwing away a vote instead of helping a real third party join the game.
I suppose I'm still watching things closely to see if something happens that will help me make my decision. The upcoming debates should help.

This lame threat emerges form every presidential election. But it doesn't happen and it won't happen.

Untrue.
President Clinton signed into law the Brady Bill and the Assault Weapons Ban. Luckily, both are no longer in effect. I'd hate to have something similar return to take their place.
McCain/Palin, go on tell me how wrong I am as if I care :)

You want somebody to tell you are mistaken in stating who you are voting for? Why would anybody besides yourself know that better? :dizzy:
I'm not mistaken Varaj it's just that there's a lot of flaming liberials on here

They may think you made the wrong choice but I don't think they will think you are wrong about which choice you are going to make.
Unless you are thinking that they will think that and so you are thinking something else to throw off them knowing what they think you are thinking.
I hope you understood that :)

I'm not flaming, I'm a lukewarm liberal. More arguably a libertarian.

Check the "Political Spectrum" thread. It is pretty centrist around here.
As a card carrying member of the Foreigners for Obama religious sect I am more than ready to flame Doc for his poor choice of choices. If you Yanks don't vote in some democrats then there is no chance of Americas moral fibre weakening enough for us all to invade and have you wearing tea-towels on your heads in next to no time. Of course there is no way we would invade if the president let you all keep your guns to shoot our terrorist heads off.
