Palin Refuses to Testify
09.03.08 -- 11:07AM By Josh Marshall
It didn't take long. We've already brought you news of the official investigation into Gov. Palin's firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan. Steve Branchflower, the lead investigator, began trying to arrange a deposition of the governor days before her veep selection. And despite claiming executive privilege to shield requested emails, up until that point Palin had promised full cooperation with the probe.

Now, however, she is refusing to submit to questioning by Branchflower unless he and the legislative committee that appointed him agree to relinquish control of the investigation and turn it over to a state review board made up of three Palin appointees.

Yesterday, Palin took the unusual step of having her lawyer, Thomas van Flein, file an ethics complaint against her with the state's Attorney General. This, she hopes, will lead the AG to give the investigation to the aforementioned state personnel board. Unless that happens, and Branchflower agrees to close down his investigation, she will refuse to testify.

Fucking amazing.

I really believe (and hope I am wrong) that the privacy of the voting booth is going to reveal America's racism and Obama cannot win. This could leave us with this scary ass bunch.

Hold me.

Giuliani says Palin ready to handle 9/11 crisis

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani says Sarah Palin is ready to handle Sept. 11 crisis

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani says if Sarah Palin had been president when the U.S. came under attack on Sept. 11, 2001, he's confident she would have been able to handle the crisis.

Palin's experience as the mayor of a tiny Alaska town and as Alaska's governor for less than two years have led critics to question her readiness to be vice president in a John McCain administration — and president should he be unable to continue serving.

In an interview Wednesday on ABC's "Good Morning America," Giuliani was asked, "If she were the president on 9/11, you would have been confident?"

Giuliani responded: "I'd be confident that she'd be able to handle it. She's been a governor of a state, she's been mayor of a city."

I heard that this morning and was aghast. Then I got the trembles, thinking of something like that actually happening when she was in charge. Brrrrr!

Giuliani responded: "I'd be confident that she'd be able to handle it. She's been a governor of a state, she's been mayor of a city."The guy is just trying to prop up his own place in the world and pretending that having been a mayor automatically qualifies one for greater things. Giuliani did His thing after 9/11, but the guy really didn't seem (imho) to be qualified to be president by a long shot. However, if he talks about her being qualified for the VP slot, it reflects on him to some extent, or I'm guessing that is his hope.

The talk tonight, which I've had enough of now, seems to imply that every Senator is unqualified for the Presidency. I wonder how McCain gets around that?

Oh yeah, P.O.W. Did you know he was a P.O.W.?
