If I'm reading that right, you're trying to make it download a php file? Or is it just not loading up the avatar change page? Cause it works for me.

right click any picture and take the save as option and save it to your pc with a name you'll recall.
Then upload it.

Thank you for your patience. i am serious about being inept. example: been reading fark for months--only found out last week those little colored boxes at top were TABS which lead to other places. I am actually quite good at research--its the technical how tos i am clue less on . deep sigh. my friends call me almost amish for a REASON.

Copy paste that, and make sure there's no kaytastrophe stuff in it. In fact, looking at what the board does to the link I see that's what you were trying initially.
So cool. Cut and past the url that you see above, and delete everything prior to the http://img.... part. That will get rid of the redirector.
