Hey guys.

My company is taking us to the Horseraces today at Del Mar (near San Diego). I'm going to have an hour and a half on the bus to figure out what to bet on.

They're giving us fake money to use to bet, so if anyone has any experience with this, your help would be appreciated. I've never bet on/been to a horserace before.

1: Long shots are just like penny stocks.
2: The closer the odds are the more likly you are to make money
3: Its fake money so go hog wild on the long shots
4: Hope you don't win with fake money cause that would be a major bummer at 80 to 1.

5: If there is a Lake Moosehead running... kill that fucker for me.

Then speculate a bit with the money you win on surer bets.

Tempted to just use it to buy booze. That's sound financial planning, right?

Buy the booze for a loney lady... tap it and take all the money in her wallet and leave.

Look at when the last race was for it. If it has been a long time may not be good to bet on them. Also check out the age sometime the young ones are ok but look at its win record before you bet on a young one. It is sometimes better to go for the more seasoned ones.

If you have to go for a long shot just place the money on to show it increases you chances to win something. Best advice is to buy a stat sheet at the track and read it.

Okay, leaving the track now.

We were all given $20 to bet with.

I put it all on a horse to place in the first race, and won ($66 payout).

I then put $10 on the following race for a horse to place, won again ($21 payout).

Third race, I put $5 on a horse to place, and I lost that one.

I didn't bet on the fourth because the line was too long at that point.

All in all, I came to work today with 0 dollars in my wallet, and I'm going home with $72. Not bad.

One girl from my job won $625 on one race. Crazy!
