Yeah, it doesn't say, and the Netherlands are not listed...
Here it's about a euro per condom.

There are the second to highest on the graph :)
Interesting the regional variance in the US - especailly since many condoms are sold by national chains.....

I believe, in readin the article, that taxes were included. (The article is a bit vague there)

That graph sucks. Frankly it is just impressionistic and not really informative. Not only putting cities and whole countries side by side is silly, but more than one US city in the graph doesn't make it that much "around the world", does it. :what:
I just bought a 12 pack (lucky for me that they don't expire until 2011) and it cost $12.34 US. That puts New Zealand at roughly the same spot as France. Given Ireland's position on the graph I would say that the Pope is having an undue influence in some areas - are some parts of the US more Catholic than others?
The big cities like Boston and Chicago has a large Irish population while Florida, Californa and Texas are more Hispanic other then that I have no idea why it's hight regionally in the US. You expect to use only 12 in 3 years ?
Yep it sounds about right - my birthday, her birthday, christmas, and the feast of the holy assumption (you see we are catholic too and I am trying to hide my ungodly prophalatic usage from Mr Ratzinger so he doesn't excomunnicate me (have to be extra careful right now as he is just accross the ditch in Sydney for world youth day)).

In Sweden they're about a dollar a piece as well, or just a bit over.

Much moreso than the 11 in Europe!
Are you saying you would expect LESS price difference between New yorkl and Los Angeles that Netherlands, France and Belgium?

Not at all. I'm just saying, why put cities (mostly US, and also Shanghai) against whole countries? Apples and oranges. :)
Given that New Zealand is about the same size as the borough of Queens I can see why.

Are you serious??? You only have sex a few times a year? You do know that's a sin right? I'm Catholic. I know.

Comparative populations? New York has 6-14 million residents depending on how you count. About Belgium, or Canada.

They're probably cheaper in Brazil. I mean all you have to do is stick your peenar in a hole in a rubber tree.

Canada has 30 million, thank you. :D We're getting there!
It's not a matter of population. It's just two graphs in one. A single number for a whole country is just a gross average that includes all the cities. The average price of those US cities in that graph is around 12$, so by placing the US as a whole right between Poland and France using those numbers you can realize how it would change everything when you look at Houston on the one hand, and New York on the other. So, like I said, it's just two graphs confused into one. Unless you specifically want to compare the US cities with the rest of the world, but it's not what the article says, nor the title of the graph. Comparing Houston to Denver to LA to New York is not answering the question "which countries “tax” sex the most?" (to quote the first sentence of the article).
So, do I seem so bored with life that I have to waste my time with such insignificant details? I guess so.

Dude, you're not missing out on all the cutting edge developments on the linguistics front? Cause I'm sort of expecting you to keep me up to date on that...

Aha! Unfortunately, I find (and am trying to build a demonstration) that the cutting edge stuff is actually pretty delusionnal. Stick to arabic lexicography to keep your mind sane. Or buy lots of condoms at the England price and have fun with them. :D Something I don't do as often as a normal human being should.

Do they have the latex kind of condoms in La Belle Provance, yet, Asc, or do toques still do double duty?
Nah, toques are so passé now. We use (very, very) large mittens so we can cover the balls at the same time. Barns in winter are cold, I tell you.

I think you are quite right on the cutting edge stuff, at least on the field of Arabic morphology; they are, in my humble opinion, just letting their minds flow on LSD and then write articles about what they saw. I mean, come on people, this kind of nonsense is why I stopped being interested in literature analysis. You can overanalyse stuff... and if you really want, you can always find "proof".
Still, it is as exciting as really bad really complicated science fiction, and it keeps me occupied trying to disprove it.
As to condoms: we bought a 24-pack just before we stopped needing them (no, the Cartographer is allright, I just got other protection). Anyone need 20 condoms? Preferably someone from Ireland?

We use a lot when I get to see my SO, but he did a commercial for a condom company and now has buckets of free ones. Our goal is to use them all before they go bad.
