I can't be the only one who likes this movie. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm not. Reasonably sure I'm not. Anyway.

This is a good movie, not perfect, but I like it. Why they feel the need to remake it in LA is beyond me. I think it'll be an atrocity of Catwoman proportions.

Can you dig it? :)

Never saw but always wanted to see the original. I keep putting it off because I can't find it.

No matter how good a movie is there is always some yutz in Hollywood that will remake it.

Really? Wasn't hard for me to find, it was at Virgin Records for I think $8.

There, no more excuses.

Yeah, it...just...why would you WANT to work with gang members in LA? And you'll never get better than David Patrick Kelly as Luther.

Loved it when I saw it as a kid but just saw it recently, and despite Joe Walsh music (which is on my MP3 player. Living in the City) I didn't enjoy it quite so much.

Remaking it though, sounds retarded and they'll put an urban hip-hop slant to it and it will suck.

How in the hell can you duplicate the feat of making the baseball gang menacingly creepy?

Great 70's flick. And where else but a 70's flick are you going to see a gang movie where one gang is dressed up in baseball uniforms and facepaint and another wears rollerskates? :D

Not in the remake, that's for sure. They'll be sure to make it "real" and "street" and "edgy", with lots of parkour and martial arts action.

And that's part of why it will suck ass.

I didn't see it when it came out, but I did first see it around Winter of '84. It was showing at midnight every Friday at some theater near the university campus in Columbus, Ohio*, and folks dressed up and got all weird and shit. Memorising the lines and such, just like for Rocky Horror.

Very strange experience, what with all the white people around. Some spooky cracker shit there.

* No, I didn't go to college in Columbus, but I dated a girl from there and we drove pretty much anywhere east of the Mississippi when ever we felt like it. Saw 2001, A Space Odyssey for the first time on the same visit, albeit at a better theater.

It's funny, I'm more familiar with that line via the Incredible PWEI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PWEI)
