I view drama as boiling water. It can certainly happen while you wait and stare at your pot, but it's never roiling and it invariably just doesn't do the trick.

If you wait around - watch some TV, read a book, take a walk in the meantime - when you come back, the pot is on a good boil and ready for you.

Do not seek the drama, instead, let it find you in its own time.
