I also installed "Tab Mix Plus" add-on.
It's pretty sweet. Changes fonts of tabs when you haven't looked at them yet, moves around status bars, I love playing with this shit.

Just downloaded it and so far, so good.

It's out of Beta? Cool. I'll have to try it later, though. The download page is slow loading. Anyone know if it's able to handle things like Google Groups properly? That's why I ditched it in Beta. That and a couple of other issues.

I've got 3 and I only have one issue. Hotmail won't load the full version, only the classic version. I checked around, and it seems to be something on Microsoft's end... I think.
The error that hotmail reports is a login error, it will load the classic and the error message suggests cleaning out you catch and cookies, which doesn't work. From what the web says, Microsoft may be flagging FF3 as incompatible with the full ver of hotmail, which is weird since it works with 2 just fine. (I'm using the live ver of hotmail.)

So, it just came out... should I install it or wait a wee bit?

Haven't had any problems with it yet. :)

Same. Seems stable. I haven't explored for features, though there's something about tags for bookmarks which might be useful.

Seems pretty much like the last one, but one thing I'm really liking:
The password remembering. In the past, you had to tell it to remember your password immediately, before you log in. So it remembered incorrect ones all the time. Now it asks after, so you only every record the right one.
A lot less irritating.

now that is nifty!

I installed it a couple of days ago and I really like it. :) And it scans for viruses when you go to save an image to your computer. It didn't do that before.

I usually open sites I visit frequently by right clicking on the link and doing Open in new tab. Now often when I do this that option is greyed out until I try a second time and it works.

Haven't installed it yet but.... does it? I'm disappointed in this. I smell bloat.

Like I said, I really do like this version better. Everything seems to work better. And I haven't had a virus issues since. So maybe it does work. :)

Did you know that you can middle click to open in a new tab?
That's how I browse!
Also middle click on a tab closes it!

That is cool, and I know about it. Actually use it once in a while. Don't know why it doesn't take with me.
Also middle click on a tab closes it!
Durrr, huh? That one's weird. Why not just go ahead and exit it normally? Your mouse is already there. Ya gotta click anyways.
I also occasionally use middle clicking within a page to bring up quick scrolling, or whatever it's called.

I suppose it's so you don't have to aim for that little "x" button, and you can just sort of mash things wildly.
Besides, when you're drunk, and covered in chicken grease and your hands are all slippery, it can be hard to click straight.

Shit. Repagination/antipagination isn't compatible with F3. There's a version available somewhere that simply doesn't work; and another that requires to be a member of the developers' network to download. Dictionary Search, TortoiseSVN, WebDeveloper and many others of my can't-do-without plugins aren't available either...
I think I'll downgrade back to F2.

Now I'm thinking of going back to F2 because F3 is bogus like hell! Crashes everytime. I open up the media player to listen to a MP3? F3 crashes with the crash report dialog box and all. I alt-tab to VC++ to look at some lines of code? F3 crashes without a word -- it just disappears suddenly.

I have exactly one problem with F3: When I choose "Save and Quit", it does exactly nothing different than if I just choose "Quit". It sure doesn't save any tabs for me.

Where is save and quit?
Dr_Avalanche
07-07-2008, 08:39 AM
When you have multiple tabs and hit the little X (or whatever the shortcut to Quit is), I get a popup window with that as one of the options.
Edit: Now I get what you're doing. You're implying that I have some plugin that isn't working, aren't you? Damn smart thought.

huh? No I was genuinely asking, just cos I have never seen it.
I have "tab mix plus" plugin installed though, so maybe that is causing me to see different (better) behavior. :)
I don't do that kind of wierd passive/agressive internet nerd thing, I just stick to being a dickhead overtly, so that I don't confuse myself.

I know. Actually, I thought I was such a good idea it would seem out of place to claim the honor myself, especially *if* that possibly was what you implied. :)
I would need to uninstall my addons to see if it's actually the case though, and I can't be bothered to do that, yet at least.

Crashed one time too many, I'm back to F2...

At work I didn't have any problems with the upgrade. At home I had to manually delete all my settings, do a clean install and then reimport book marks. Works fine both places now.
