Aw, thanks folks. I had a really good weekend.
Saturday we slept in and then we did some kick ass stuff:
took my leather jacket (was a 21st present, when I was young) to a leather tailor to be refitted. Been wanting to do this for ages. It turned out that the lady originally made the jacket! Her initials were on the inside.
Took the dog for a walk. We share birthdays, because he can't count. We both pee'd on sticks, which is awesome.
Then I started playing with my home theatre PC, to get some stuff fixed. So BA left me alone for a bit to be geeky. And I had one of *those* days. No really, one of the good ones. I got everything working! No problems, tv being streamed from the server... movie/music databases working fine... home theatre PC ftw! It was awesome.
Then BA gave me one of these, which totally kicks ass: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/keyboards/keyboard/devices/3848&cl=us,en
Then we went to my parents house where I drank beer and watched footy. The mighty crows lost though. Still, stiffy was great, AA this year.
Oh yeah, my family gave me a bunch of booze, bottles of things I've been finding hard to find. That was nice, they don't like it when I'm shaking so much.
So then, there was sunday:
I was oddly, really hung over. I haven't been drinking much recently and the booze knocked me around. I sorted myself out with a whole bunch of coffee, water, vitamins, meth and diet pills.
Then we went out for brunch with some friends, and I ate a fucking massive omelette. Which also had really nice fresh ingredients in it and everything.
I drank more coffee (espresso based cap's are much better than instant) and that meant I had to poop. But after that, the hangover was gone, which was nice.
The friends and BA and I then went to see the new Indiana Jones movie, which I think kicked ass, although it had some bits I would have changed. Like the skull, which looked like a plastic toy from inside a christmas cracker.
One of the friends gave me some of his old PC parts (for free!) so took them h ome after and was more geeky getting my super old pc upgraded to just a kind of old one.
Then, BA took me out for a special dinner in an unknown location. Which became known, it was this awesome restaurant called Mapo that I've been wanting to try for ages. And guess what... it basically kicked ass.
Here is the menu: http://www.mapo.com.au/menu_Standard.htm
So it was pretty good. I did lots of stuff, I was geeky, the Beautiful BA treated me like a king, and I ate stuff. Good weekend.

Ah, a diNovo Mini, awesome. I have the full sized version. :)
What did you eat at Mapo? That menu made me suddenly very hungry...
Oh, and congrats!

Sounds like a greta weekend, PIS, I am sure SA deserves all the credit she gets.
Happy belated birthday Pigs - well done of the home theatre - I usually have trouble finding the wall socket for the power cord.

One of these days I'll make some posts about my htpc goodness, when I can be organized enough.
As for the Korean kick ass food, well we had a bunch of stuff that we shared.
Entree was the "yook hwe" - seasoned raw beef with egg served on julienne apple.
That turned out to literally be raw beef stips with cracked raw egg on top of chopped apple and onion. It was actually bloody delicious. And cold. Served at very chilled (ie on ice) temperatures.
Mains was one of each from the traditional menu, and the korean modern fusion menu. The beef dullsot bibimbap, and crispy barramundi.
The barra was a bit more Japanesey, subtle flavours, loads of coriander, beautifully presented with a display of crispy carrot & beetroot & whatever slivers.
The dullsot was a lot more hearty - thick, earthy, warm, melt in your mouth beef & root veggies in a pot with varous spices and oils. Also wonderful.
We also had dessert, but for some reason the desserts weren't traditional korean - only fusion to try. I had what was basically a lemon curd tart, BA had some kind of creme brule.
Good food here. :)

, BA had some kind of creme brule.
Good food here. :)
NN was the master cook at our gallery/restaurant but we had a regular customer who would occasionally present us with chocolate Crem Brule which was sparingly given out to good customers and opening attendees. And a few back in the kitchen for "family". ;)
nSounds like you had a great weekend, and happy Birthday !
