course the first thing i noticed was machu pichu and thinking that isn't aztek. then i had that damn song stuck in my head for the rest of the movie. havent looked it up yet but the director of that film is going on my list of those who must die right above Joel Schumacher for crapping on batman and making speed 2.
ok looked it up Raja Gosnell he edited a few good films but directed crap so he wont be missed. you can add the writers Analisa LaBianco and Jeffrey Bushell. normally i am willing to let films with talking animals slide but that trailer assaulted me to the core vengance must be had

The review I read said that the movie didn't tell the story very well. That is, that the first third was great but the second 2/3rds was just an endless series of CGI battles that, while impressive, don't do much to tell the wonderful story that people who read the book know is in there.
I'm interested what those of you who actually saw it think of this. Accurate?

as far as telling how accurate the film is to the book it has been almost twenty years since i read it. need to get a copy and reread.
and as for my earlier rant sorry i don't know why that trailer affects me like another annoying piece of media that i shall share

sorry you lost me there eric clapton is brilliant, bob dylan is brilliant, sinatra, bobby darrin, woody guthrie, lennon also hell even dare i say it creed shines when in the same room as aqua.
again for some they may enjoy but for some reason it irritates a nerve and i want to break things. many friends of mine would agree on this. and before i made this post i tried to watch and listen to every video on you tube. aqua for me should be banned by the geneva convention.
back story for aqua, late one night i was gaming with some friends and one of the guys sister inlaw's was sleeping over and her cell kept ringing with the barbie song as the ringer. it got to the point where i took the phone and threw it out of the house across the street and into some one's kiddie pool that i didnt know was there. next day i had to get her a new phone.

Frank Sinatra is a blight upon the universe and one of the strongest arguments in favor of humans being wiped clean from existence.

hmm maybe it because of my midwest roots but i always enjoyed sinatra. granted some people have sung some songs better but i have much respect for the man. when some one puts an album out if i can find the time i will give every one a listen. its why my music library is pretty diverse. fixing to borrow a friends durango collection to try it out (bit tougher for me to appreciate since my spanish is choppy at best).
wow this thread is kinda heading off topic or is it, since it all started with something that annoyed me.

Hmmm I'm more Minnesota and Kansas so that would put me pretty midwest as well. I'm very eclectic in my tastes, most people look at my CDs and say something along the lines of "wow you listen to a range of stuff."
Don't get me wrong, Aqua is not high art but they are very good at what they do. I get the same reaction you get to Aqua with Sinatra. Different people different tastes. :)
Now Santana is some good stuff.

How many chihuahas will be purchased and not cared for properly?
Oh, and Sinatra kinda leaves me wanting.

i will agree with you on santana he is also one of my favorite guitarist
my faves
Stevie Ray Vaughan http://youtube.com/watch?v=YDBIbJKjAZQ
Eric Clapton http://youtube.com/watch?v=VRsJlAJvOSM&feature=related
Santana http://youtube.com/watch?v=y_b3LMoQUJ0
George Harrison http://youtube.com/watch?v=aKy73uTOhDc
Jimmi Hendrix http://youtube.com/watch?v=W55Smyyzs58&feature=related
i grew up listening to these guys on the radio
sad thing bout these musicians in this area
Vaughan no one remebers he died way too soon, clapton and santana the days of their prime are both past and alot of people round here don't remember their best material. same goes for harrison plus he was in the shadow of two people he was in some band with. most people only remember hendrix around here and i think it is only because he died in his prime.

Wow. And to think... For all these years I've been mispronouncing chihuahua. [che, not chee].
Saw Prince Caspian on the weekend with my three year old son and we loved it. Eddie Izzard as Reepicheek and the two dwarves were especially well done I thought. Ever since Adam and I have been running around the house as High King Peter and King Edmund trying to fight to save the animals. My wife is a bit miffed that she only gets to be Lucy and we only go to her when we need some magic potion. I thought that it was an excellent adaptation of the book with the added attack on King Miraz's castle not detracting from the story.
However the Hellboy II trailer before hte movie scared the heck out of Adam (as did the Wall-E trailer man that female robot is mean).
