Short Review: Buy It!!!

Long Review:
I just picked up The Third an anime from Kadokawa Video released stateside by the Right Stuff!
It's an anime with a sword wielding, gun toting girl with her own intelligent tank, and it has mecha in it!!! What could possibly go wrong with that?
As it turns out nothing at all is wrong with The Third, in fact there's a lot that's all right!
It's set in a post-apoplectic future where most of the world is mostly desert and is ruled over by the third, which seem to be some kind of evolved humans with red eyes in their foreheads.
Honoka is a jack-of-all trades who will take any job, except killing people. In the first episode Honoka is killing some spiders that have overrun a construction site outside a town. (Really big mutant spiders. It has giant mutant bugs too!!!) Honoka seems to prefer using her sword over her guns (maybe so she doesn't have to buy as many bullets?) but she does have a really extensive gun collection.
Her partner is Bogie an AI who is usually inside Honoka's sand thank, but is removable. Bogie seems kind of like a parent watching over Honoka, worrying over Honoka spending money on new toys like that armer piecing rifle she just had to have.
I really like Honoka, even though she's a tough girl who can fight and has guns as a hobby, she has a girly side to her too, like her habit of reciting poetry. (This makes for some really beautiful scenes too, like the desert sky at night.)
This one is a keeper, check it out!
