Ultra cool demonstration of why you always vent a tank when emptying.
I wanna play!

You know, you can do that at home with a plastic water bottle. Fill it halfway with warm water. Close it hermetically with its cap. Let it cool, once it's room temperature put it in your fridge. Once it's cold, put it upside-down above the sink, the neck slightly immerged in a bowl of water (so that air can't enter) and remove the cap.
Though it won't be as spectacular as what you get with a tank car.

I did it with coke cans as an experiment to show my kids.
Get a bowl of cold water ready.
Get an empty coke can. Pour a bit of water in it.
Heat up the can on the stove until the water inside is boiling (you'll see steam)
Using tongs, grab the can, invert it, and stick it into the bowl of cold water.
Crunch!

Yeah, I owned every damn "Experiments young scinetists can do at home" book. (I actually have asmall collection of those and cheap, low-quality "How to make pottery" titles)
But I never got to play with a BIG one! :)

Why would it be full of super hot gas in the first place?
