Those top 2 are great. I love the effect you have done to make that colour (whatever it is!).

Salt and or salt water.

Hey Clay, have you done any rubber cement masking?

Not since freshman year of first undergrad. After that you graphics people were dragged off to your own floor with no dust, fires or power tools. At least thats how I saw it.

The swirls are from 10-25 layers of thick spray paint laid on an uneven ground the scraped and reapplied then sometimes set on fire. (not the black parts, the dimensional parts) Befor eor after that a wet stencil is used and new paint and fire.

It is a ball. With the right euipment I think I could travel doing this shit with people. :)

Edit: Wet stencil is takng wet paint and painting stencil with a different color (in this case a 2 inch thick wooden heart) and then repainting) and laying it in the paint. The two paints swirl together depending on their wetness and consitency.

I remember when I was in the watercolor unit in my painting class (oh gods about 15 years ago, the time of the first Persian Gulf war and I painted a fire with a column of smoke in the desert, where the black inky smoke began to fade into the sky, I'd painted a peace symbol in rubber cement. It peeled off perfectly revealing the red I'd painted underneath. While the desert part was still wet, I added the salt, and it really sucked up the tones and gave it real sandlike texture once the salt dried and fell off.

I wish I still had it.

I wish I still had it.

Did it, like most of my cool T-shirts, leave with a woman?

I don't know, a lot of my valued possessions weren't around on the other side of my marriage. I think she was a sneaky tosser.
