Be it French, German, Italian, Chinese, Russian, Spanish or Klingon, tag your threads in the new Foreign Languages forum with the [ ] symbols and start waggin' your tongues!

For instance, [German] Sprechen sie Deutsch, bitte? would be an appropriate thread title.

[Poopersex] The language of looooove! would not be appropriate.

Carry on, cadets.

Now, I'm not one to sass the General, but [poopersex] is totally it's own language.

Thank you, Kay. And you, Varaj. And you, Thomas. Thank you all. Cheers to you all.

We have something really good going here. Something really special. Let's make the most of it.

This idea, while initially I discounted, I think has some merit, I was dredging back to the recesses of the half semester of Spanish 1 I took back in 1990 and starting to remember things.

So, I guess I'm saying "Thanks Edena" I know it's trite to say, but I "must spread some reputation around before giving it to" you.

Props.

Babe fish doesn't have a English to Klingon option :(

(humor, but true)

I dare not use Babelfish. Both my teacher and Helga know immediately when I do it. And they are not pleased. ('You have failed me for the last time, student!') :)

Besides, Babelfish cannot translate anything worth a darn. It is well named: BABELfish.

On a side note I don't make any decisions. All Kay and Belladonna. I am a peon. :)

I regret that I could not post enough to maintain the forum.
If I were able to speak fluently in French, then perhaps I could have.

Remember my old 'novel-sized' posts?

If only I *could* write such long posts in French.
However, I can only - even as of now - write proto-sentences in French. Fortunately, I have the help of some very fine people, or I couldn't even do that.

My thanks to General Kay and Varaj for having the forum at all. I hope that one day we will be able to justify having it back again.

Someone I know, who knows about attempting to learn a foreign language, described the process as 'a struggle against yourself.' You know what? It's true. That's a true statement.

Yours Sincerely

The forum isn't closed. It has been merged into the Borg Cube known as the
Intergalactic Space Station, where it is still possible to create new threads in any language. :)
