Yeah, there's a story written on that man's face. You can imagine a humble life of hardship and outside physical labor. You can find yourself in a Steinback or Zola novel just by looking at him. The boy is a blank page. Cuter than the old guy, sure, but with less character.

I'm having a hard time choosing. The man looks content with his life and joyful. His eyes show much wisdom from his dealings with the world.

The boy looks hopefully and curious, ready to take on the world but with tentative steps.

Both have good contrast of light.

2nd one has great composition, though the subject of the 1st is more visually interesting.

I went with the second, if anyone cares.

I voted for the boy as well, because of the composition. I see more than plenty of old people every day as it is. The curse that comes with age, I suppose.

There's something genuine and bright in the boy.
