Nah, my personnel wakes up of its own accord and makes me a coffee.:D The baseball bat is only needed in the beginning, after a while they get the message.
Since you have a honkin' big sword next to the bed does the boi toy wake you up with a long stick ?? :)

And, a new installment...

I've had a few cats, and I loved them all. But I had one cat who was, quite truthfully, the dumbest cat I've ever met. Big, strong, loving, and very stupid. Named him Vertov.
It took him forever to figure out how to open a door. Only had one door in the apartment I ever closed, and it lead to the kitchen and Vertov's food bowl. In time, and at the cost of great personal labor, Vertov finally figured out how to bump his head against the door with force, pretty hard actually, and make the door swing open.
But, as I said, Vertov was not the brightest cat. Sometimes he would forget to check and see if the kitchen door was, in fact, already open. He would sit and mew and mew and mew, ramming his head against the door, already open and against the wall, the way to his food clear. I had to get into the habit of leaving the kitchen door open at all times, or I would sit and listen to the mournful "meow" *thump* "Meow" *thump* "MEOW!" *thump* over and over and...
OK, it was actually pretty funny. But I did start leaving the door open.

Classic. Since we moved in with a dog, who breaks in when I'm not at home and eats the cat food (I keep it in the base of my doorless closet ((small room))) Genghis now ritually tries to bury the food dish, by scratching on the hardwood floor, the closet doorjam, the wooden dresser, etc. He's not harming anything, but sometimes 5 minutes of this will get a dirty sock thrown at him. ;)

Bert Bongers moved in with me last night.... And there was much meowing. He is a bit confused as all the furniture is known, but the place isn't. And he knows me, but is wondering where his daddy is.
The kittens are always the ones who suffer from a divorce...:(
Anyway, there was much meowing in the car. Then there was the sniffing of everything. Then there was the sitting in front of mummy's nose the whole time and the shouting when I disappeared from view (like, in the toilet). Then there was the sleeping on the bed, until 5 am, at which point the meowing started again. And it did not stop. I opened the curtain for him so he could look at the birds in the garden, but no joy. Meow meow meow, until I locked him in the living room with food and litterbox, drew the blankets over my head and tried to get back to sleep.
Poor kitten is alone now, I hope he is ok, but I need to work... I also hope the neighbours are slightly deaf.
Nebin would play tag all night with some hapless mouse then jump on my chest to show off the filty thing after he finally put it out of it's misery
