Good morning fellow cadets. I come to you, seeking some artistic insight.

I am the treasurer of the Cal Poly Pomona chapter for Engineers Without Borders. It's essentially an effort by professional and undergrad engineering students to help build infrastructure in developing countries by designing creative solutions that exercise our expertise. I'm really excited about it - we're looking for projects now in Latin America and trying to work with the national chapter to potentially get some "at-home" design work while we're still getting settled into this brand new club on campus.

As with any campus club here at Cal Poly, we're kinda expected to create a shirt to sell to club members as a way to fill the coffers. Since the club is entirely engineer based so far (3 Mechanicals, 1 Civil, 1 Electrical, and a smattering of industrial and manufacturing) - we don't have any really good artistic talent. So we're working with the art department to commission something. We're just not sure what.

I'm interested in hearing what ya'll think about when you hear "Engineers without Borders" and what sort of iconic imagery you associate with it.

Random brain storm stuff:

Bridge or other engineering staple being built out of the countries of the world.

Map of the world with power lines or highways/bridges marked on it, but no country borders. Pick a recognizable continent, probably not North America, as there aren't enough country borders to really get the point across.

Two countries being bridged by an actual bridge that is two hands shaking in the center.
