Which Door?

Building, Angkor Wat I believe, every day of the week.

I like the door in the building.

You don't wonder what's behind the freestanding door. It's mysterious in its own right -- why is that door here? -- but it's not beconning like the dark room in the old buillding.
<Freud> Brynja's post makes me wonder if we'll see a sex-based trend in the choice, with guys chosing the building and gals chosing the freestanding one. </Freud>

I'd pick the building.
But there'd be a big part of me jumping around going "WTF? It was a door in the middle of nowhere! It might lead to somewhere else!" and I'd want to run giggling up the hill to go open the thing.

Slow down, pancho. Remember how well that worked out for Roland Deschain?

Hey, I never said my inner child was smart. That fucker would have me tramping through the wildnerness looking for what's on the other side of everything if I let him.
I like both, but I'ld have to go with The Jersey Devil and pick the free standing one, just something about it in a field of green

Both cool. But the Myst/Riven/Golden Compass fan in me feels drawn to the freestanding door.

Both are alluring.
I'll take the alternate universe over Moria, though. They have a cave troll.

The door in the building for me. Reminds me of Pan's Labyrinth for some reason.

The door in the building for me. Despite being freestanding in the middle of a field, there's something institutional about the freestanding one that I don't care for.

The freestanding one!
It seems more full of hope and mystery, whereas the other one is going to be full of vampires and skeletons that I have to grind through before I can get my magic sword.

Man, that's not right. Can I pick both?
They both promise so much mystery and excitement. The temple might have archeological treasures and I might run into Angelina Jolie all dressed up as Lara Croft, holy shit! But the freestanding door might send me to Narnia....
I'll go with Angkor Wat.

Freestanding. Heaven and Hell overtones of the door makes the choice a tempting one either way, but ultimately picks the one that leads to a future, rather than hell or an uncomfortable look at the past.
