Fishing as an active hobby? We must be thinking of different kinds of fishing, 'cause I'm thinking of all the beer-bellied guys I know who love to sit out on a boat in the middle of a lake for hours at a time, doing nothing... punctuated by 2 minutes of reeling one in here and there. :)

By active, I'd say anything that gets you up and moving. Forces you to work your body, get the blood flowing, and improves your general health.

Well with some of the above definitions, the Wii could be considered active because that requires you to move around instead of just sitting.

Hell, yes. It's being used as physical rehab in some places. One hospital in Calgary (iirc) is currently using a giant-screen Wii set-up to help rehab a boxer who took a head injury in a car crash.

The Wii is the only videogame system that I've had a genuine interest in purchasing in years. :)

I know that I would not mind having it. I have seen several of the games on the commercials and it looks like a lot of fun. Plus you get some exercise. Not to bad if you ask me.

I love our Wii! We just got Boogie (a dancing game) for it. My five year old can play it...his grandparents can play it...and we all have to get off our asses to do so. Yay Wii!
