Limper and I are at loggerheads about how soon that Anc should give flowers to the girl he's trying to date, since she forgot thier first date Monday I suggested that he send her a flower with a note to remind her. Limppy say's that's too "creepy and desperate", what's you take. And what would a guy do on the first date that has a high creepyness factor to you ?

There's a poll so wait.

I wouldn't find it creepy if it's someone I've met before & agreed to go on a date with, as long as it's not too over-the-top. A single flower, or a simple bunch no problem. A massive bunch with chocolates, wine, etc that costs $$$ when I hardly know the person ----> creepy.

Creepy.

She forgot the date? Or did she "Forget" the date?

Either way just chat and reschedule.

A single flower is what I meant, one of those "I was in the store and saw this rose and got it for you" kind of deals. But I gotta say the best "date" I had last year was due to planting a tree or rather sapling at my sisters house.

:) smart ass, I was planting a pecan tree for my sister and met one of her co-workers, somewhere between unloading the tree and watering it for the last time that day I got a date. Went to a movie, dinner and some heavy huggin' and kissin' that night.

Creepy and desperate.

If she forgot their first date, and was really sorry about it and was actually interested in Anc, she should be sending him the flowers, not the other way around.

Mmh, do guys often receive flowers in the US ?

I'm trying to think of a gift a woman can send a guy she's courting...

I dunno, porn maybe ? :what:

Ooh ! I know it ! Food !

Obviously, she wasn't.

I definitely would have accepted sexual favors, but good food can work too.

Women get flowers, men get food. It's the rules.

This works out well. I am a man and I like food.

A couple of weeks after Deathe and I met he got the flu, and was sick from work (we worked together). I called him at lunchtime to see how he was doing, and after lunch I brought him some cans of soup, a pack of his smokes, and a single coral colored rose in a 2-ft tall black glass vase. He was too sick to care at the time, but later he told me it was very cool.

Why on earth would a man be all offended-like at flowers?

And hell, women like food too. God, look at me, I fucking LOVE food.

I don't think guys are offended at getting flowers, I'm just saying that the shortest path to a man's heart is through his ribcage.

Also guys like to eat.

Or something.

Why on earth would a man be all offended-like at flowers? I can't speak for all men, but I wouldn't be offended I just wouldn't really care...

...Unless it's a flower made out of meat and potatoes. Then it's awesome.
Dammit, GIS has failed me! And I don't have time to make my own.

I wasn't offended when I got them. Although I didn't really care either. The gesture touched me, but much like when someone goes on vacation and buys you a t-shirt they love showing off their vacation, you're sort of indifferent to the gift itself.
