From now until I die I'm voting for party gridlock in everything I can.
I feel that will minimize the damage either party of assclowns who don't represent me can do.

I mock your value system.
Where is the failing in it? Neither party actually represents the people and we've seen nothing but bad stuff when they hold a hegemony.
So long as they are arguing with each other they aren't screwing anything up.

Deadlock and my own anonymity within this huge bureaucracy ensure my freedoms more than any constitution can.
Hooray for split tickets!

That's okay.
I value his mock system.
Up with gridlock!

Gridlock is good. The reason? So long as the officials are busy fighting with each other and not able to pass legislation that means they are not, well, passing legislation. Nine times out of ten when legislation get passed, it gets my Irish up. Money is being spent that doesn't need to be and civil liberties are getting fucked with a 10 inch peener.

There's some damage control to be done.

Things will only truly get unfucked when there's actual consensus which is probably a good idea too.

Things will only truly get unfucked when there's actual consensus which is probably a good idea too.I am a little bewildered at the Republican tactic of trying to prevent the Democrats from getting anything done seemingly on principle. You know, no "good idea" or "bad idea" principle, just "if we let the Democrats get any legislation through, they'll be able to claim progress and we don't want that."
It boils down to political brinksmanship and I'd almost even say spite. Time will tell if it works as a tactic or just causes the public to view the minority leadership as utter schmucks.

I was expecting that, honestly. In some ways, it's always been like that, but the tactics have gotten harsher and some of the rhetoric have changed, but it's always been a story of "stall the other guy". It doesn't bother me that the Republicans are doing this right now. Bills I'd like to see passed don't make it, but some stuff does get through. The bad bills are often the ones that get passed the first time out the gate.

At this point I think we need a dictatorship to unfuck the clusterfuck.

Too bad cutting the Gordian know will leave a bigger mess than leaving it intact.

At this point I'm not sure about that. Its not like the dictator would be gone right away so it could get fixed and the field could get leveled again. From there the people could exert their desire to be a democracy again and at least for awhile folks wouldn't take the right and responsibility of voting for granted.

OK you've sold me, as long as you can find a philosopher king to step up to the plate. Know any?

Why in the name of God would you listen to ANYTHING said by Keeper?
Its not a question of benevolent its a question of knowing the problems and being willing to fix them by any means... and knowing I need to step down when my work is done and return the power to the people.

The problem is that in most cases, the people who have the will and ability to acquire power are the people who are least suited to wielding it.
